History of
Cross Creek IIDon’t Settle For Less
ESTABLISHED 1987
The development of CrossCreek II, a patio-home community, has helped set a precedent for future residential development in the city of Plantation.
Not only is CrossCreek one of the major developments along the expanded stretch of Sunrise Boulevard, one quarter mile west of Pine Island Road, it is one of the first communities to feature zero-lot line, single-family patio homes under the zoning of a planned unit development.
This modern approach has paid off for the developer, Gulfstream Homes. CrossCreek has won 25 building industry awards, and had our grand opening on January 1988 .
Because of the popularity of the first phase, Gulfstream Homes has announced the opening of CrossCreek II. Like its predecessor, CrossCreek II will feature 109 homes. Both phases of the CrossCreek community will span a total of 24 acres.
According to Terry Bickel, Gulfstream Homes sales and marketing director, such quick development of the CrossCreek’s second phase was in response to the public.
“We knew from the first that CrossCreek would be successful but even we’re amazed at how fast we’ve sold the first phase,” Bickle said. “We had no choice but to responded to home buyers’ demands by opening CrossCreek II.”
CrossCreek II, located just west of the original CrossCreek site on Sunrise Boulevard west of Pine Island Road, will blend the same distinctive architecture, including use of earthtone colors and tile roofs, with extensive landscaping to give the community a close-knit, neighborhood feel.
Three different elevations will be employed to add variety to the look and feel of the neighborhood.
Part of CrossCreek’s appeal is that outside maintenance and lawn care are provided. Residents get the advantage of privacy and space provided by a single-family home without having all that yard work. For homeowners who are simply too busy or for those who would rather be on the golf course or beach instead of mowing the lawn, CrossCreek is a great alternative.
The five floor plans available at CrossCreek II are designed to maximize use of living space.
A long list of options — usually only found in custom-built homes — are available including skylights, French doors, a screened-in pool package and upgraded appliances.
